the tug of your gut
ok so i know oprah is big on this and many others as well...but i now have a story that proves one should trust thier gut. ok so a couple of days ago my sweet baby boo (my rabbit calib) starting teeth chattering, in other words he was loudly grinding his teeth which for rabbits is usually a sign that they are sick or in pain, i tried to dismiss it but something just seemed off. and seeing as how he will be turning 4 in june (middle age for a bunny) i just couldnt stop wondering if something was wrong. so yesterday we trekked the 24 miles to see his vet in lees summit (the Lakewood Animal Health Center is AMAZING! they are wonderful and if you have rabbits actually know what they are doing...well worth the drive!). so as Dr. Allan is checking him i am reminded of the first time we met her...calib was only one pound fifteen ounces and could fit his whole self onto my hand...now...um not so much but good news he isnt as overweight as i thought...he is only five pounds eight ounces, not the seven i was thinking. :) anyhoo i digress...well to get back to my main point...he was in pain, he was hurting, he was having dental issues and its a good thing i took him in when i did cause once i really thought about it he was starting to not eat as much meaning a couple more days and he could have been dead or really really sick. soooo...yes your gut instinct that tells you something isnt right or is just different, LISTEN TO IT!!!!
so yes my baby boo was hurting and required anesthesia so they could file his what are close to being back molars down...yeah $155.40 later i had a boo that was mad at me but very dazed and confused and i got to watch as my savings account managed to shrink yet again...but i had a boo to bring home. so thank you again to Dr. Allan and the rest of the wonderful staff at Lakewood Animal Health Center you are wonderful! :D
(and calib snifs his thanks to you too!)
